East, West Split In All-State Volleyball

The West defeated the East 15-12, 17-15, 15-12, 5-15 Saturday at Tacoma’s Fife High School in the final A-B match of the Dairy Farmers of Washington All-State Series.

In the AAA-AA game, the West prevailed 15-11, 14-16, 15-8, 9-15, 15-12.

In the rally-scoring fifth game, the West led 12-6 then survived a five point run by the East.

Paige Quistad of Colville led the East with six blocks.

Lindsi Weber of Selah led the East with 33 assists, three aces and 20 digs.

The East won Thursday’s first match in Spokane.

After losing in Spokane, the A-B West team regrouped behind the play of Woodland’s Mandi Cody, who led her team in kills (11), assists (20) and digs (13).

After losing the first game, the East had an opportunity to tie the match in the second game but failed to convert leads of 14-13 and 15-14.

East leaders were Angie Hall of Colfax with 19 kills, Megan Wellsandt (Ritzville) with 17 assists, Tracey Tribbett (Colfax) with two aces, Talia Brewer (Wahluke) with 10 digs and Lindsay Thiele (Colfax) with three blocks.
