Couple Badly Hurt When Car Hits Bridge
An elderly Newman Lake couple was in critical condition late Monday after their car slammed into a bridge support in the Spokane Valley, the Washington State Patrol said.
Arnold Zweigardt, 84, and his 81-year-old wife, Emelie, were northbound in a 1986 Ford Taurus on Starr Road at Trent Avenue about 6 p.m. Monday. The car drifted into the left median and hit the bridge support head-on, troopers said.
The injured couple were taken to Deaconess Medical Center. , DataTimes
