Hannah Joins Cast In Comedy ‘Favorite Martian’

Daryl Hannah will join Christopher Lloyd, Jeff Daniels and Elizabeth Hurley in the cast of the sitcom-inspired Disney comedy “My Favorite Martian.”

Hannah will play the role of Lizzie Drake, a quirky news station camerawoman and best friend of news writer and Martian pal Tim O’Hara (Daniels).

Also starring are Lloyd as Uncle Martin, the Martian who finds himself stranded on after his spaceship crashes on Earth, and Hurley as prickly on-air personality Brace Channing, with whom Lizzie vies for Tim’s affections.

Gibson

Mel Gibson has closed his deal to star in “Parker,” a film that will mark the directing debut for his “Conspiracy Theory” writer Brian Helgeland.

The film will be Gibson’s next project. Following this project, Gibson’s next film will be the fourth installment of the “Lethal Weapon” series, sources said.

“Parker” is based on “The Hunter,” a novel by Richard Stark that has already been filmed as the Lee Marvin vehicle “Point Blank.” The movie is a film noir about a tough loner seeking justice after being wronged years before.
