A typhoon blasted Japan with powerful winds and heavy rain, killing at least two people and spawning landslides and flooding, authorities said today.
Typhoon Rosie began losing its strength as it moved away from Japan today and was downgraded to a tropical storm.
Power failures, landslides and flooding were reported in much of the country after Rosie lashed the southern island of Shikoku Japan with 90-mph winds Saturday.
Two people died in a river swelled by heavy rains. Some 37 people have been injured in accidents related to the storm.
