Four On Plane Killed In Crash By B.C. Ski Area
Four people have died in a plane crash near this southeastern British Columbia community, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Monday.
A U.S.-registered Piper Cherokee crashed Sunday near Mount Ymir at the edge of the Whitewater ski area.
Officials said they had trouble finding the wreckage because the pilot didn’t file a flight plan.
The four unidentified bodies were taken to Kootenay Lake District Hospital.
The cause of the crash was unknown.
A search was launched after an emergency locator beacon was detected in the area Sunday.
The RCMP said no additional details were available Monday.
