Villwock Out Of Intensive Care

Compiled From Wire Services

Unlimited hydroplane driver Dave Villwock, 42, has been moved out of intensive care at Harborview Medical Center following a weekend accident that broke his arm and nearly tore off his right hand.

Meanwhile, the Miss Budweiser team announced that Mark Weber will replace Villwock at the Bud’s helm this weekend at a regatta in Kelowna, British Columbia.

Villwock’s hand was nearly severed when the Miss Budweiser flipped on the Columbia River during Sunday’s Columbia Cup race at Kennewick. He underwent 6 hours of surgery on his hand, followed by several more hours of surgery to repair damage to his right forearm.

Zalin said doctors believe Villwock has the potential to regain full use of his hand.
