Sportscaster Linked To Slain Dominatrix

By Associated Press

The name “Marv Albert” was found in a black book kept by a dominatrix who was shot to death in her apartment, and police sources told WNBC-TV on Wednesday that the entry apparently refers to the sportscaster.

NBC’s leading basketball play-by-play man is charged in Virginia with biting a woman and forcing her to perform oral sex. Albert denies the charges.

A spokesman for the sportscaster would not comment on the report.

Spokesman Howard Rubenstein said Albert’s attorney, Roy Black, has instructed his client and his representatives not to comment on anything related to the case.

“Therefore we have nothing to say concerning these recent reports,” Rubenstein said. Black did not immediately return a phone call to his office in Virginia.

The body of Nadia Frey was found Saturday in her apartment on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. She had been shot four times. Police say there was no sign of a break-in.

Detectives searched Frey’s address book for leads, amid published reports that it contained the names of politicians and judges.

Albert, 53, has worked for NBC since 1977 and also covers football and boxing.
