Alleged Stalker Shot 5 Times By Woman
An Auburn woman repeatedly shot an armed man who broke into her home after allegedly stalking her for nearly a year, King County police said.
The 30-year-old woman and the man, 34, each armed with a handgun, exchanged about a dozen gunshots inside her home Monday night before she was able to escape and run for help, officers said.
A police SWAT team arrived and found the man sitting on a living room couch. Police spokeswoman Joanne Elledge said the man received five bullet wounds in the chest and was in serious condition Tuesday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The woman received a minor leg injury.
Names of the two people involved were not immediately released.
The woman told police she met the man about a year ago and they dated for about two months before she broke it off. Since then, she has filed at least two reports alleging the man was stalking her, Elledge said.
