Larry Walker hit his second homer of the game, a two-run shot in the 11th inning that lifted the Colorado Rockies to a 9-7 win Thursday and snapped the visiting San Diego Padres’ six-game winning streak.
Colorado turned a team-record six double plays. The major-league record is seven, done four times and last accomplished by St. Louis in a 10-inning game against Pittsburgh on June 16, 1994.

Armando Reynoso pitched a five-hitter for his first career shutout and New York tied a club record with five double plays in the win over Florida.
Reynoso (5-0), who took a no-hitter into the seventh inning May 19 against Colorado, didn’t allow Florida a hit until the fifth this time.

Lenny Harris and Pokey Reese replaced injured starters and had three hits apiece, leading Cincinnati to a victory over Houston.
Harris hit a solo homer, scored two runs and drove in two as a replacement for Deion Sanders. Reese had a pair of singles and a double while filling for shortstop Barry Larkin.

Joe Randa, hitting for power since replacing the injured Kevin Elster as Pittsburgh’s No. 5 hitter, hit a two-run homer and RBI triple to lead the Pirates’ victory over St. Louis.

Denny Neagle scattered six singles for his second career shutout and Keith Lockhart, Javy Lopez and Andruw Jones all homered as Atlanta beat Montreal.

Mike Lieberthal hit a three-run homer in the ninth and Scott Rolen singled home the winning run in the 10th as Philadelphia beat Chicago Cubs and stopped a six-game losing streak.

William VanLandingham, coming off two horrendous outings, allowed three runs and four hits in six innings as San Francisco beat Los Angeles.
