Peruvian’s Ex-Wife Seeks $1.2 Million
A lawyer for Alberto Fujimori’s former wife said Wednesday that the Peruvian president owes her $1.2 million he borrowed to help fund his 1990 election campaign.
Over the next several weeks, a court will rule on how Fujimori and former wife Susana Higuchi, who went through a messy divorce last year after 22 years of marriage, should split their assets.
Higuchi’s lawyer Luis Renteros asked the court to validate a document in which Fujimori allegedly concedes that he owes Higuchi $1.2 million for loans stemming from his 1990 presidential run.
