Store Worker Suspect In Credit Card Theft

From Staff And Wire Reports

An employee at a Spokane Valley home improvement store was arrested Thursday for using a customer’s credit card number to make phone sex calls, sheriff’s deputies said.

Eric D. Torrey, 20, is being held in the county jail on suspicion of second degree theft.

An investigation began after a HomeBase customer complained that her credit card had been used to make $385.11 worth of 1-900 calls, deputies said.

She last used the credit card several weeks ago to make $115 in purchases from the store. The victim rarely used the card, deputies said.

HomeBase security guards tracked down Torrey as the clerk who rang up the woman’s purchases, according to deputies. , DataTimes
