‘12 Chairs’ To Be Released On Video
Mel Brooks’ “Twelve Chairs” will get its first release on home video Tuesday as part of a collection of Brooks’ films priced at $9.98.
“I’m thrilled and proud to get it out there again,” Brooks said.
The 1970 comedy “Twelve Chairs” stars Brooks, Frank Langella, Dom DeLuise and Ron Moody in a story about a Russian clerk who travels the countryside in search of one of the 12 dining room chairs in which his mother-in-law sewed a fortune in family jewels.
The other titles in the collection are “Silent Movie,” “High Anxiety,” “History of the World Part 1,” “Robin Hood: Men in Tights” and “Young Frankenstein,” all of which Brooks directed, and “To Be or Not to Be,” which Brooks produced and also starred in.
Brooks is also writing a script for a new movie and has a newly recorded version of his classic “2000-Year-Old Man” routine with Carl Reiner coming out this fall along with a book version from HarperCollins on Oct. 1.
