Tubbs Hill Logging To Begin Monday
Loggers will begin cutting trees on Tubbs Hill Monday, according to city officials.
Tubbs Hill will be closed to the public throughout the logging to prevent people from getting hurt. The logging is being done to get rid of trees damaged during the ice storm and heavy snows in November.
Sawyers from Wescor Forest Products will be cutting trees marked by volunteers and Coeur d’Alene Parks Department staff in January. Wescor is subcontracting to Idaho Forest Industries, which purchased the timber.
The trees will be taken off of the hill by helicopter as early as March 17, depending upon the weather. The trees will be flown to the lower city parking lot on Third Street. , DataTimes
