G&B; Takes Over Robideaux Management Portfolio

A Spokane real estate company is transferring management of almost all of its properties to a former competitor.

R.W. Robideaux and Co., which has been in business for more than 10 years, will transfer its entire property management portfolio to Goodale and Barbieri Group of Cos.

The majority of his firm’s employees have been or will be hired by G&B, said Bob Robideaux, president of R.W. Robideaux and Co.

G&B will take over a portfolio that includes about 50 office, medical, retail, shopping center and residential properties in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

This will allow Robideaux and his remaining employees to focus attention on the management, leasing and development of downtown’s River Park Square, which is undergoing a $100 million revitalization.

“As work has progressed on the River Park Square project, it has become increasingly clear that to be able to provide the kind of ongoing service and support these clients need, we would have to make some changes,” Robideaux said.

“A tremendous amount of attention is now being focused on River Park Square,” he said. “It has become apparent that even more time and effort involving the entire R.W. Robideaux team will be required.”

Robideaux also will manage and lease investment properties and will continue to represent some tenants in Spokane and North Idaho.

Donald Barbieri, president and CEO of G&B, said Robideaux’s clients will receive the same professional treatment and services from G&B as they did with Robideaux.

The elimination of Robideaux leaves Spokane with only three major players in the property management business, said Dave Black, CEO of Tomlinson Black Group of Cos.

“It narrows the field to three major property managers - G&B, Kiemle and Hagood and Tomlinson Black Management. I look at us as all being the same size,” Black said. “It’s business as usual, but there’s one less competitor out there because of this merger.”

The field was narrowed substantially in March 1995 when Black’s own company merged with Tomlinson Real Estate Group to form Tomlinson Black.
