In The World Of Gossip, Donald Never Disappoints

Compiled By Staff Writer Dan Web

We’re still amazed, and ever so thankful, that Donald Trump decided to end his marriage to perennial starlet Marla Maples. There’s been no end to the speculation as to the reasons why.

People magazine theorized that Trump couldn’t handle Maples’ mother, with her “Beverly Hillbillies”-type clan.

And while both mothers made a showing at the couple’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Fla., the New York Daily News reported that the respective families “kept their distance.”

The New York Post, though, reported that there may be trouble with the Ivana Trump-Riccardo Mazzucchelli marriage.

“It’s just rumor and speculation,” said Ivana’s press agent, Catherine Saxton. Maybe so, but one can always hope.

Imagine the headline: “Trumped Again!”

Loose talk

Roseanne on how her talk show will differ from the others (in the Hollywood Reporter): “Your mother’s a stripper and she dresses too sexy I won’t go there.”

Here’s a perfect gift: Buy her a catwalk

Naomi Campbell turns 27 today.

Well, “never” seems to be a fairly harsh assessment

“These stories seem to come in waves,” said Matthew Broderick recently, responding to reports that he was planning to marry longtime girlfriend Sarah Jessica Parker. “I’d think people would be bored of them by now. They’re never true.” On Wednesday, Broderick’s publicist released a statement that Broderick and Parker were married Monday in New York.

Question is, can Nathan Lane do an English accent?

According to the Toronto Sun, the Oscar Wilde Society is against the casting of Liam Neeson as the lead in a forthcoming movie about the gay English writer (“The Importance of Being Earnest”). Neeson’s problem, the society claims, is that Neeson is “too heterosexual.”

But does he call her that to her face

According to what he said on “The Rosie O’Donnell Show,” actor James Brolin has a particular nickname for steady Barbra Streisdand. He calls her “Beezer.” He also said that he asked her four or five times to be his wife before finding the right ring in January.

You could even say he’s a master, eh duchess?

So why did the Duchess of York, between assignments, attend the Byron Nelson Classic golf tournament in Dallas over the weekend? Because Tiger Woods was playing. “It wasn’t worth going home for such a short time, and why should I spend the weekend in a hotel between lectures when I could be with Tiger,” the duchess told The Daily Mirror of London. “I think he’s sensational.”
