Gold Reserve Corp., clarifying an earlier news release, said this week a preliminary ruling by the Venezuelan Supreme Court does not affect the Brisas alluvial gold concession in the Imataca Forest Reserve.
Gold Reserve also said the court ruling does not prohibit the Ministry of Energy and Mines from granting new concessions, such as the company’s hardrock or vein application, under existing decrees.
The Venezuelan court said it will issue its final ruling in four months. Gold Reserve said it has completed all necessary requirements and just needs to get final ministry approval and pay assessed taxes.
