Minister To Perform Music During Service

The Unity Church of Truth, 2900 S. Bernard, will host the Rev. Doug Bottorff during its 9 and 11 a.m. worship services on Sunday.

Bottorff, who is also a professional musician, will be performing during the services as well.

Bottorff will present a seminar titled “A Practical Guide to Prosperity” on Sunday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Based on a forthcoming book by the same title, the seminar will focus on two basic messages: Be true to yourself and follow your dreams.

Topics to be covered include the spiritual origin of our desire to prosper, understand the true self, and the dynamics and messages of challenges.

Bottorff has been an ordained Unity minister since 1981 and is currently the senior minister at Mountain Light Unity in Evergreen, Colo.

Diversity talk on Sunday

Bob Bartlett, director of the Cultural Affairs Department at Gonzaga University, will speak at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Sunday at 10 a.m.

Bartlett’s talk is titled “Out of Diversity Comes Unity.” Bartlett will also speak on “The Challenge of Being a Christian Advocate” at 10 a.m. Nov. 30.

Both lectures are free and open to the public.

Thanksgiving services planned

Several South Side churches are planning special worship services the day before Thanksgiving.

First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar, will hold a service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church will also have a worship service at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The church is located at 314 S. Spruce.

A 7 p.m. worship service will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 5720 S. Perry, on Wednesday.

The Unity Church of Truth, 2900 S. Bernard, will hold a Thanksgiving Eve worship service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Cheney will hold a worship service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to celebrate Thanksgiving. The church is located at 639 Elm St.
