Pickup Driver Killed In Collision With Semi

A Bonner County man was killed Friday afternoon when his pickup slammed head-on into a semi-truck near Bonners Ferry, the Idaho State Police said.

The unidentified man driving the pickup was eastbound in the wrong lane of Rapid Lightning Road about 1 p.m.

Semi-truck driver Matt Maggi, 30, of Bonners Ferry told troopers he tried unsuccessfully to avoid the pickup.

Neither driver was wearing a seat belt, the ISP said.

Troopers believe the pickup driver drank alcohol and took prescription drugs prior to the crash. , DataTimes
