Bank Builds Branch At Liberty Lake

Seafirst Bank has begun construction of a new branch in Liberty Lake.

The one-story, 4,100-square foot building will be in the southwest corner of Liberty Lake Town Center, the shopping center at Appleway and Liberty Lake Road anchored by the Albertson’s supermarket.

Seafirst officials said the bank branch will open next spring.

It will be the first bank branch in the Liberty Lake area, said Seafirst spokeswoman Mary Kelley.

Kelley declined to comment on the total cost of the project. Construction should cost approximately $340,000 according to county records.

The bank will have four teller windows and other standard amenities. It will also have a drive-up window and a drive-up automated teller machine.

Gart’s store nears completion

Gart Sports plans to open its store next to the Spokane Valley Mall next month.

The company plans to open its store at 15118 E. Indiana on Nov. 17, said Bryce Hammon, who will manage the new Valley store.

Currently, construction crews are working on the interior of the 35,000-square-foot store, which is immediately east of the new Circuit City store.

Denver-based Gart hired approximately 60 people for the Valley store.

Hastings opening new store Nov. 18

Hastings Books and Music will move next month to its new store at Sullivan Square.

The store at 11324 E. Sprague will close Nov. 9. Hastings will open in its new building, which formerly housed the Best Products store, on Nov. 18.

“We wanted to start moving the products on the 6th, but we realize we will need a little down time,” said store manager Kevin Pardue. “We may do some special deal with (movie) rentals.”

Remodeling continues at the Sullivan Square building, where Hastings will occupy 28,000 square feet, or a little more than one-third of the building. Two other tenants, not yet named, will occupy areas on either side of Hastings.

For Hastings, the move means adding more magazines and books, a coffee cart, chairs and benches.

Pardue said he didn’t know of plans for Hastings’ present building once the store moves.
