Former ‘Hermit’ Noone Hosts Big Bash At Davenport

Celebrate the fright night and remember the good old days of rock ‘n’ roll when Peter Noone headlines the Monster Mash at the Davenport Hotel Saturday evening.

Noone is the former lead singer of ‘60s hitmakers Herman’s Hermits, a British band that managed to crank out 11 Top Ten songs from 1964 to 1967. Among them: “Mrs. Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter” “I’m Henry the Eighth, I Am” and “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat.”

Noone was 15 when he first became known as “Herman” from Herman’s Hermits. His band went on to sell 51 million records before disbanding in 1971.

Saturday’s show will be the last big bash at the Davenport Hotel before it closes for renovation. Costumes are optional.

Special guest Johnny Thunder, former lead singer of The Drifters, also will perform along with Rocky and the Rollers from Gainsville, Fla.

The Monster Mash begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and available at G&B Select-A-Seat outlets. To order by phone, call (800) 325-SEAT.
