Ovens Already Baking For Greek Dinner Festival

Nina Culver Correspondent

Consider this your early notice: Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church is already baking, cooking and perfecting a variety of Greek treats to be served at its 62nd annual Greek Dinner Festival, scheduled for Oct. 1-3. The dinner is usually a sellout, so buy those tickets now.

This year’s menu features marinated meats, Greek sausages, Kapama (Greek ragout of beef), pasta with brown butter and myzithra cheese, green beans with garlic and herbs, Greek salad and desserts.

If Greek food tempts your fancy and one meal isn’t enough, there will be a bazaar selling homemade Greek pastries and Greek deli items opening at 10 a.m. each day of the festival. Crafts and imported items will also be available.

Dinner will be served from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. each day of the festival. Diners can enjoy beer and wine outdoors while they watch the church dance troupe perform.

Tours of the sanctuary will be offered throughout each evening.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under age 12. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the City Ramp Garage, 430 W. First; the G. Arger Co., 300 N. Mullan; and at Holy Trinity, 1703 N. Washington.

For more information, call the church at 328-9310.
