‘Frasier’ Cast, Crew Get Double-Shot Of Seattle Scene
The view from Frasier Crane’s window is clearly Seattle. But it’s an illusion that’s pure Hollywood.
Until Monday, at least. That’s when the cast and crew of the NBC sitcom “Frasier” came to Seattle to film an upcoming episode.
It marked the first time in some 100 episodes that the show actually had filmed scenes in the city where it is supposed to be based.
Kelsey Grammer plays the lead character, a psychiatrist with a radio call-in show on a fictional Seattle station.
The view from his apartment window provides a clear image of the Space Needle.
But the show has always been filmed in Southern California.
More than 100 local extras were used in Monday’s shooting, including a dozen students from Olympic Ridge Elementary School in Bremerton.
Filming will resume today at the Space Needle and Pike Place Market.
