Roads Damaged By Winter Storms Remain Closed

Portions of dozens of roads in the Idaho Panhandle National Forest are closed because of winter storm damage. Hunters may be forced to find a different route.

Hunters are encouraged to check with the nearest Forest Service office before heading to camp. “Even if a road is open, it may be rutted, reduced to a single lane or accessible to a high clearance vehicle,” Forest Supervisor Dave Wright said.

Some roads are closed because of damage from last November’s ice storm. Some are closed to help protect wildlife habitat or because of logging.
