Whitworth Presbyterian Church Offering Adult Education Classes

Adult education classes have started at Whitworth Presbyterian Church, 312 W. Hawthorne Road. Classes are held each Sunday at 10 a.m. through Oct. 25.

“American Ideas and Religion: The Intellectual Influences on American Christianity” will analyze the relationship in America between major literary, cultural, and scientific trends and how they shape religious experience.

“Hidden Keys to Loving Relationships” is a video series by Gary Smalley that provides keys to building close and intimate relationships with friends and families.

Both classes are free and no advance registration is required. For more information, call the church office at 466-0305.

Singer in concert

Singer Michael Kessler of Twin Falls, Idaho, will be performing two concerts in Spokane in the coming week. He will perform “The Life of Jesus in Concert,” a musical chronology of Jesus’ life, during both performances.

Kessler’s first concert will at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 4620 N. Regal. The concert is free, but donations will be accepted. Dessert will be served following the concert.

The second performance will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 4202 N. Belt. The concert is free.

Clothing drive will benefit charities

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3909 W. Rowan, is holding a clothing drive this month to benefit local charities.

The church is looking for clean clothing in good condition for all ages. Items may be dropped off at the church office.

Worship schedules

Country Homes Christian Church, 8415 N. Wall, has started a new worship schedule. An informal, contemporary service is offered at 8:30 a.m. and traditional worship is at 11 a.m. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m.

Shadle Park Presbyterian Church, 5508 N. Alberta, is offering a traditional service each week at 9 a.m. and a contemporary service at 10:30. Sunday school is held during both worship services.
