Historic Mansion Site Of Gift Show

An historic mansion built for a member of the J.J. Browne family will be home to a gifts and crafts show starting next week.

Kathleen Chapman and her husband, Brian, have restored the Guy Browne home at 57th and Custer on Browne Mountain in southeast Spokane, four blocks east of 57th and Glenrose.

Chapman runs the Vintage Rose gift shop out of her home and arranges shows with local artists each year.

The show will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 2-3 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 4-5.

It is intended for holiday-season shoppers.

The list of gifts, foods and crafts is long. It includes lace, stained glass, quilts, candles, china, collectible dolls, antiques, ornaments, clothing, lamps, pottery and more.

Admission is $2.

Visitors to the show will get to see the turn-of-the century American Foursquare mansion. It has stained glass windows, hand-carved woodwork, pocket doors, refinished oak floors, built-in cabinets, a unique fireplace and an impressive view to the west.

Adults only are requested.
