Sandpoint Bows 35-14 To Knights

Visiting East Valley gave Sandpoint a lot to think about one week before the Bulldogs’ Inland Empire League opener with a 35-14 win.

Knights running back Adrian Likely scored the first three touchdowns. He ended with 167 yards on 15 carries. Likely scored on runs of 73, 6 and 11 yards.

Sandpoint’s Caleb Bowman had three catches for 51 yards, scoring on a 31-yard pass from quarterback Paul Neiman. Kurt Berkley scored the other TD for Sandpoint on a 95-yard kickoff return.

The Bulldogs open IEL play next Friday against undefeated Lake City.

The Knights (4-1, 4-0 North Star League) took control in the second quarter, scoring on three consecutive possessions.

Lakeside’s Buck Allen ran for one TD and caught a scoring pass. Quarterback Ken Pluff added a 55-yard TD run.

Clark Fork’s Nate Stutzke threw two TD passes, both to running back Brent Stevens. George Klontz had 26 rushes for 169 yards for the Wampus Cats.

Colton is 3-0 and Kootenai fell to 2-3.
