Women Accused Of Assaulting Teens

Associated Press

Two women were in jail Monday on charges they kidnapped and assaulted two teenage boys they suspected of burglarizing their home.

Police arrested Lenora Ruth Robinson, 20, and Tajuan Yevette Gibson, 23, on Sunday as they drove away from their home with one boy in their car to search for the second, who had escaped and called 911, police said.

The women were charged with first-degree kidnapping and second-degree assault.

The boys, aged 16 and 17, apparently had burns, welts and cuts on their bodies after being held in the women’s home for several hours, police said.

Police said they were still investigating whether the boys were involved in the burglary of the women’s home a few days earlier. More charges were expected.

The 16-year-old boy was held on an unrelated warrant for failing to appear in court on a charge of being a minor in possession of alcohol.
