Robbers Hit Store; Another Nets $10
Two young men robbed a South Hill convenience store at gunpoint early Saturday, while in another incident, a man robbing an espresso stand fled empty-handed but left behind a $10 bill.
At 1 a.m. Saturday, two men, one armed with a handgun, held up a clerk at the Zip-Trip at 1523 W. 10th. They escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
Both men are white and about 18 years old. The man with the gun was described as 6 feet tall, 150 pounds. His companion is about 5 feet 9 inches tall, 200 pounds, police said.
At 7 p.m. Friday, a man ordered a latte from Milliways Espresso, 602 N. Ash, and paid with a $10 bill. The man then indicated he had a gun and demanded cash.
The clerk backed away from the service window and the would-be robber fled on foot, leaving his $10, police said.
The suspect is white, between 18 and 20 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 150 pounds. He was wearing denim shorts and a blue sports jersey.
