Filing Deadline Sept.1 For Nic Board Elections

Wed., Aug. 19, 1998

Applications for four of the five spots on the North Idaho College Board of Trustees are due Sept. 1.

The trustees determine NIC’s general policies, select and appoint the president and approve annual budgets.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, a Kootenai County resident for at least 30 days before the election, and a registered voter. Candidates also must get five signatures from other qualified electors for a nominating petition.

The positions available are:

Position A, which expires in 2002, currently held by Sheila Wood. Wood has filed for the post.

Position B, which runs through 2000, currently held by Richard Kohles.

Position C, which continues until 2004, currently held by Jeanne Givens.

Position D, which runs through 2004, currently held by Bill Nixon. Nixon is running for position B.

Trustee Barbara Chamberlain is the only board member not up for re-election.

Applications are available at the Lee Hall business office or the Kootenai County Election Department.

The election will be Nov. 3, the same day as Idaho’s general election.
