Woman Snatches Purse, Eludes Pursuers

A woman was robbed Friday afternoon in the parking lot of a north Spokane restaurant, police said.

The victim was getting out of her car at about 1:30 p.m. at Old Country Buffet, 5504 N. Division, when a woman ran up to her and grabbed her purse.

The robber fled on foot, headed east on Rowan, then south in an alley. Two passersby attempted to catch her but she escaped, police said.

The thief was described as white, in her 30s, 5-foot-1 and about 140 pounds. She was wearing a bright orange sweat shirt.
