Cda High Choirs Invited To Salt Lake

Fifty Coeur d’Alene High School choir students have been invited to perform at The Salt Lake Tabernacle in March.

The school’s advanced treble choir and mixed choir will perform with the Utah State Choir and the Utah Chamber Orchestra at the eighth annual Intermountain choral festival, choir director Jo Ella James said.

Coeur d’Alene is one of nine treble choirs and 13 mixed choirs to receive an invitation to the festival, which features outstanding choral programs.

“I am ecstatic,” James said. “I’ve gotten to sing in some incredible places myself and I know what kind of impact this has on young performers. You just don’t know what an experience performing in a world-class concert hall is until you do it.”

The cost per student is $275 for the four-day trip and students plan to raise the money themselves. Students will be having various fund-raisers as the March 14 performance approaches.
