Now on display at the new Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos, Calif., is the XH44 Hiller Copter, built in 1943. The XH44 is the first helicopter built and flown in the Western United States. The museum, near San Francisco, focuses on man’s ongoing passion to rise above the confines of Earth.
