Atv Driver Leads Police On Chase

From Staff Reports

A 38-year-old man driving a four-wheel all-terrain vehicle led police on a chase through northeast Spokane early Sunday.

Lester W. Chandler drove the wrong way on North Division, ran a red light at Ruby, blasted through several stop signs, took turns on two wheels and roared around a dozen residential streets going about 45 mph around 1 a.m., according to the Spokane Police Department.

Three patrol cars were involved in the chase.

Chandler then turned his vehicle onto Upriver Drive. Near the 2100 block, he drove off the road, onto the Centennial Trail and to the edge of the Spokane River. Then he stopped, got off the vehicle and ran but was caught by officers.

Chandler was booked into jail on attempting to elude, a felony; driving with a suspended license; and possession of a prescription drug without a prescription-labeled container. , DataTimes
