Valley Woman Arrested In Beating, Robbery

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Spokane Valley woman accused of beating and robbing a man was arrested Wednesday, deputies said.

Tammy R. Berry, 28, was booked into the county jail on suspicion of first-degree robbery.

Deputies went to a house in the 5000 block of North Campbell Road about 10 p.m. after a man reported that he’d been assaulted there.

The 20-year-old victim said he was inside his aunt’s home when he saw Berry outside. The man, who apparently knows Berry, yelled at her to go away, deputies said.

Instead, she rounded up several male friends, who kicked in the door and attacked the man, Deputy Glen Hinckley reported. The victim told Hinckley the group beat and kicked him while one attacker pointed a gun at him.

Berry and her accomplices then stole the unidentified man’s television, VCR and jewelry, deputies said.

Hinckley and Deputy Jim Gladden later found Berry at her apartment and arrested her. None of the men has been located.
