Five School Levies On Tuesday Ballot

Five school levies are on the ballot Tuesday in Lincoln, Stevens and Ferry counties.

In Lincoln County, the Harrington, Sprague and Creston school districts are proposing levies.

The one-year Harrington levy would collect $320,000 in 1999 at an estimated rate of $4.25 per $1,000 of assessed value. Creston and Sprague are seeking two-year levies that would collect $152,000 a year at respective rates of $2.44 and $3.27 per $1,000.

In Stevens County, the Onion Creek district between Colville and Northport is proposing a two-year, $40,000-a-year levy that would cost an estimated $2.69 per $1,000.

In Ferry County, the Republic School District wants a two-year, $249,000-a-year levy whose cost is estimated at $1.65 per $1,000 of assessed value in 1999 and $1.68 in 2000.

Pend Oreille County has nothing on the ballot. , DataTimes
