Carl Silkett Hayden
Private family service for Carl L. Silkett, 81, was held at an earlier date. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Silkett, who was born in Sioux City, Iowa, died Friday.
He lived in California and worked as a senior surveyor for Caltrans, retiring and moving to Hayden in 1986.
Mr. Silkett was a volunteer driver for the North Idaho Cancer Center.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Katherine “Kay” Silkett; three sons, Carl Silkett II of Tennessee, and William and Joel Silkett, both of California; a stepson, Frank DeLano of California; a stepdaughter, Joan Conahey of California; a sister, Eleanor Kilpatrick of California; and six grandchildren.
George Tingelhoff Post Falls
Memorial service for George L. Tingelhoff, 80, will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Pinewood Care Center in Coeur d’Alene. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tingelhoff, who was born in New York City, died Wednesday.
He grew up in Nebraska and then lived in Montana. He worked as a roofer and painter and was an interior decorator.
Mr. Tingelhoff moved to Post Falls six months ago from Montana.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Joy; five sons, George, Robert, Tom, Richard and Tim Tingelhoff, all of Nebraska; two daughters, Karen Bradstone of Georgia, and Jeanie Farmer of California; a stepson, Ken Nissen of Nebraska; two stepdaughters, Beverly Swayze of Elma, Wash., and Connie Smiddy of Post Falls; 29 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Virginia McMackin Virginia McMackin Pullman
Graveside service for Virginia McMackin, 85, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Myers Family Cemetery. Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McMackin, who was born in Pullman, died Tuesday.
In 1936, she married James McMackin in Pullman, and they moved around to various job during World War II. They returned to farm in the Ewartsville District in 1944.
They moved into Pullman in 1966. Mrs. McMackin was a member of the Ewartsville Grange and the Daughters of the Nile.
Her husband died in 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, MaryBett Townsend of Pullman; a son, Michael McMackin of Spokane; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Betty Lou Schneider Provo, Utah
Funeral for Betty Lou Schneider, 72, was Wednesday at the Orem Northridge Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center in Orem, Utah. Burial follow at the Orem City Cemetery. Walker Sanderson Funeral Home in Orem, Utah, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Schneider, who was born in Spokane, died Sunday.
She graduated from North Central High School and married Fredrick Schneider in 1944.
Mrs. Schneider worked for Sears and Roebuck for many years and was actively involved in the resident councils of both Southcrest care center in Spokane and Eastlake care center in Provo, Utah, where she resided. She served as council president for many years.
Her husband died in 1968, and she moved to Utah about seven years ago.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy Woodruff of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Cheryl Cooprider of Wenatchee and Diane Stewart of Orem, Utah; a sister, Beverly Kent of Shelton, Wash.; two brothers, Robert Berg of Vancouver, Wash., and Donald Berg of Anchorage, Alaska; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Harold Robinson Spokane
Graveside service for Harold Robinson, 78, will be at 2 p.m. today at Greenwood Memorial Terrace Cemetery. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Robinson, who was a lifetime resident of Spokane, died Tuesday.
He served in the Navy during World War II and again from 1950 to 1954.
Mr. Robinson was a mill worker for Western Pine and Boise Cascade.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred; three sons, Dennis Robinson of Spokane, Barry Robinson of Houston and Michael Robinson of Portland; two sisters, Alice Peterson and Esther Plopper, both of Spokane; and a grandson.
Claude Driggs Spokane
Memorial service for Claude A. Driggs, 84, will be at 3 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home.
Mr. Driggs, who was a 70-year resident of Spokane, died Wednesday.
He was born in Carter, Mont., and worked as a carpenter.
Mr. Driggs was employed by Kaiser Aluminum for 24 years.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Alberta; two sons, Robert and Claude Driggs, both of Spokane; a daughter, Claudia Barnes of Spokane; three stepsons, Mike Hutsell of Spokane, Darrell Hutsell of Philomath, Ore., and Gary Hutsell of Tigard, Ore.; a brother, Charles Driggs of Spokane; 28 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Annabelle ‘Grammy’ Holling Fairfield, Wash.
Graveside service for Annabelle “Grammy” Holling, 85, will be at 11 a.m. today at Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Holling, who was born in Curlew, Wash., died Tuesday.
In 1930 she married George Holling and was a homemaker.
She lived in Spokane County for 85 years and was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Rosalia, Wash.
Her husband and daughter preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sisters, Maxine Crane of Spokane and Florence Holling of Fairfield; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Warren Guy Spokane
Visitation for Warren L. Guy, 77, will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Entombment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pines Mausoleum in Pines Cemetery. Memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Guy, who was born in Moscow, Idaho, died Monday.
He helped build Farragut Naval Base during World War II and then worked as a diesel mechanic at Consolidated Freightline.
Mr. Guy also had worked as a night foreman at Inland Truck and Diesel before purchasing Power Tool Rental and Sales in 1950.
He was a member of the Spokane Valley Rotary Clug and the American Rental Association.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Beth; two daughters, Carol Mack of Veradale and Gloria Hoskins of Bellflower, Calif.; a son, Ron Guy of Spokane; a sister, Connie Benson of Coulee City, Wash.; three brothers, Jim Guy of Caldwell, Idaho, Harlan Guy of Wilton, Calif., and Howard Guy of Santa Cruz, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Herbert Carlson Wilbur, Wash.
Memorial service for Herbert A. Carlson, 65, will be at 1 p.m. today at the Wilbur Lutheran Church in Wilbur. Strate Funeral Home in Wilbur is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Carlson, who was born in Manistique, Mich., died Monday.
He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and then worked as a schoolteacher at Wilbur High School before his retirement in 1993.
Mr. Carlson was a member of the Wilbur Lions Club and the Washington State Coaches Association.
Survivors include his wife, Anne; two daughters, Heidi Christianson of Graham, Wash., and Andrea Sells of Shoreline, Wash.; a brother, Melvin Carlson of Yakima; and a grandson.
Virginia Malterner Sun City, Ariz.
Memorial service for Virginia M. Malterner, 73, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the All Saints of the Desert Episcopal Church in Sun City, Ariz. Lundberg Mortuary in Youngtown, Ariz., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Malterner, who was born in Spokane, died Tuesday.
She worked as a teacher for Spokane School District for 24 years and was also a published author and poet.
Mrs. Malterner christened the battleship USS Washington.
She was a member of All Saints of the Desert Episcopal Church, Hospice Service of Sun City and the Junior League in Spokane.
She moved to Sun City in 1977 from Spokane.
Survivors include her husband John; a daughter, Madeline Edgren of Liberty Lake; a son, Michael McCarthy of Spokane; a stepdaughter, Laurine Malterner of Bellevue, Wash.; a stepson, John Malterner III of Bainbridge Island, Wash., and two grandchildren.

Margaret Bergman Spokane
Private services for Margaret G. Bergman, 96, were held. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bergman, who was born in Moscow, Idaho, died Tuesday.
She graduated from Moscow High School and moved in 1942 to Spokane from Seattle.
Mrs. Bergman was a homemaker and was a member of the Daughters of the Nile.
Her husband, Edward Bergman, died in 1970.
Survivors include a son, Keith Bergman of Spokane; a daughter, Mary Lynn Holman of Seattle; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
