Cross-country skiing

Lessons and seminars as well as trips for cross-country skiers are being offered starting in December through Mountain Gear in Spokane.

Here’s the first wave of activities beginning this week.

The indoor session of a beginner cross-country skiing course starts Thursday A basic avalanche awareness course begins Friday.

Beginner telemarking lessons start Saturday at 49 Degrees North.

A cross-country ski trip to Fourth of July Pass is scheduled for Sunday, depending on snow conditions.

Register for most of these events at Mountain Gear, 325-9000. Register for the avalanche course by calling Peak Adventures, (208) 682-3200.
