Cda Government Called A Bargain

From Staff

You can’t beat the price of living in Coeur d’Alene.

Well, almost.

Out of 11 cities in four states, only Twin Falls residents pay less for local government services, Coeur d’Alene officials announced in a press release.

A recent survey measured taxes, franchise fees, utility payments, home insurance and cost to license vehicles among cities in Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Montana.

The average Coeur d’Alene resident pays $1,753 a year, while Boise residents pay $1,938, Logan, Utah, residents fork over $2,076, Corvallis, Ore., folks face a bill of $2,571 and those living in Bozeman, Mont., pay $3,300.

The survey was conducted by the city of Pocatello. It also looked at the numbers of city workers.

Coeur d’Alene had the most per capita of police officers, street department employees and building inspectors.

The Lake City also had the most paved streets and sewer connections of any of the cities.
