Man Charged With Shooting Teen In Jaw

From Staff

Sheriff’s deputies have made an arrest in the shooting Thursday of a Chattaroy man.

Nineteen-year-old Robert M. Lambeth was booked into the Spokane County Jail on a charge of third-degree assault.

He is believed to have shot 19-year-old Travis S. Matthews in the jaw while showing off a .44-caliber Magnum revolver, deputies said.

Matthews remained hospitalized in stable condition late Friday.

The two were with a group of people in a trailer in the 3100 block of East Chattaroy Road about 9:30 p.m. when the gun went off and a bullet hit Matthews in the face, deputies said.

After an investigation, deputies arrested Lambeth for the shooting.
