One of the men involved in a crash that shut down the Palouse Highway for hours Thursday remains hospitalized with head injuries, sheriff’s deputies said.

Lafe E. Larson, 20, was in stable condition at an area hospital late Friday. Information on a second man hurt in the crash, 25-year-old Earl R. Parks, was not available.

The accident happened about 7 p.m. near the intersection of the Palouse Highway and Bruna Road at Valley Ford, deputies said.

Cars driven by Larson and Parks collided and one plowed through a guard rail.

An investigation into the accident continues.
