Chatfield, Allen Hot As Cc Spokane Tops Lethbridge

Jon Chatfield scored 19 points Saturday to lead Community Colleges of Spokane over its visitors from Lethbridge, Canada, 77-71, in a men’s basketball game.

Chris Allen filled the stat sheet with 14 points, six assists, three blocks and 10 turnovers for the Sasquatch (6-6). Brian Darnold added 11 points.

Dustin Miller scored a game-high 24 points to lead Lethbridge.

For the first time in Warren Friedrichs’ tenure as Whitworth coach, the Pirates have a five-game losing streak after losing to the Owls at the Warner Southern University Tournament in Lake Wales, Fla.

Tyler Jordan led the Pirates (3-6) with 27 points and was named to the all-tournament team.

Despite the losing streak, Friedrichs maintained his optimism.

“We are playing good teams well, we just aren’t getting over the hump,” he said.
