Spokane Man Stabbed In Store Parking Lot

From Staff Reports

A Spokane man was stabbed in the back Saturday night in the parking lot of the Safeway store at 4512 N. Market, police said.

The 28-year-old man suffered a 5-inch-deep stab wound in his lower back. He was expected to be released from a local hospital on Sunday, police said.

The victim and a friend were approached around 10:30 p.m. by four males they did not know, police said. The strangers called the pair names. The victim and the other man said they weren’t looking for trouble and started to walk to their car, they told police.

Then one of the strangers swung a knife. After the attack, he and the other three drove away in a Honda Accord, the victims told police.
