Robber Returns Money To Victim

Police are looking for a man who robbed a 57-year-old Post Falls man at gunpoint and then returned the money before fleeing.

Earnest Horton told police he had just gotten into his car after work at Robideaux Motors, 1603 Sherman Ave., on Saturday night when a man walked up and pointed a gun at his head. The man, described as in his late 20s, ordered Horton to roll down his window and demanded his wallet.

The robber pulled a $10 bill from Horton’s wallet, asked if that was all he had and replaced the money in the wallet. He handed the wallet back to Horton and left, according to a police report.

He was last seen walking east in an alley behind the Moon Time Cafe on Sherman Avenue.

The robber was described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and 160 pounds. He had brown, shoulder-length hair and was wearing a dark-colored plaid jacket, stocking cap and gloves.

Police also are looking for a second man seen with the gunman prior to the robbery. He was about 6 feet 3 inches tall with short hair and wearing a baseball cap.

Horton told police the weapon was a blue steel, semiautomatic .380-caliber pistol.
