Summary: This has become the best girls basketball rivalry in the Greater Spokane League, if only because at least one of the two has won or shared the title every year since 1990. Both schools have also won state titles to go with other numerous state trophies. Both plan to be back battling for hardware this year if records are any indication. CV is 6-0 overall, 4-0 in league, Mead is 5-1, 4-0.

CV is explosive behind Marisa Liepman, who averages 18.8 points in league. Peggy Coyle adds 13.3 off the bench. After that, Jenny Wilson, Courtney Phinney, Kendra Ferguson and Raeanna Jewell average 9. Mead is centered around the inside-out game of Morgan Bennett (16.5) and Courtney Ferguson (10). The best defense should win this one.
