Streets Closed For Construction Project

From Staff Reports

Two downtown Spokane streets will be temporarily closed or narrowed to one lane this weekend to accommodate work on the River Park Square redevelopment project, city officials said.

Main Avenue between Lincoln and Post streets will close Friday at 10 p.m. and reopen early Saturday morning, said Rich Davis of construction services.

During the closure, a giant crane will be moved into position. The crane will be used to lift items, such as an air conditioner and heating system, onto the roof of the new Nordstrom building, Davis said.

Also Saturday, Main from Post to Lincoln will be narrowed to one lane eastbound from 7 to 11 a.m.

That section of Main will close again Sunday evening so the crane can be dismantled and removed.

Also Sunday, Spokane Falls Boulevard from Post to Monroe streets will be closed from 6 to 10 a.m. During that time, southbound Post will be closed from Bridge to Spokane Falls.

Patrons can still access the YMCA at 507 N. Howard.
