Bank Robber Linked To Several Holdups

A man who robbed a north Spokane bank Thursday is believed responsible for nearly 30 bank robberies across the Northwest since April 1996.

Thursday’s robbery happened about 10:30 a.m. after a man walked into U.S. Bank, 123 E. Queen, displayed a handgun and demanded money, officers said.

He left with an undisclosed amount of cash, heading south on foot toward the NorthTown Mall parking lot, police said.

Authorities said the thief matches the description of a man wanted for bank robberies in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Utah, including one at the Bank of America on Appleway and U.S. Highway 95 in Coeur d’Alene on Nov. 9.

He is described as white, in his mid-20s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 160 pounds, with a mustache, large nose and short brown hair. During Thursday’s holdup he wore a brown leather jacket, a tan canvas fishing hat, sunglasses, blue jeans and running shoes.
