Bro Provides Scoring Spark As Lake City Tops Moscow

Cassie Bro’s career-high 26 points and a third-quarter press allowed Lake City to defeat Moscow 63-50 on Thursday, leaving the teams tied for second place in the girls Border League.

Bro also had seven rebounds and four steals for the Timberwolves, who used an 8-0 run early in the second half to build a double-digit lead.

Moscow jumped ahead 9-2, but needed a halftime buzzer-beater to pull within three points of the Timberwolves. The Bears were never closer than nine points in the fourth quarter.

LC’s Laura Dodge hit 7 of 7 free throws to guide her team’s 21-for-25 effort. Kellie Stern, with eight rebounds, led four Timberwolves players with six or more.

LC and Moscow, both 7-3, trail Post Falls by 1-1/2 games.
