Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Spokane Valley woman tied to a burglary ring suspected of more than 100 crimes throughout the city.

Shelly R. Whitman, 33, of 17816 E. Sprague, was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with one count of residential burglary.

Detectives believe Whitman is connected to a March 1998 burglary in the 17800 block of East Sprague.

Among the items taken were $5,000 worth of cabinets, a karaoke machine, and mink, fox, rabbit and leather coats, police said.

Last month, city and county detectives busted a burglary ring suspected of breaking into new homes or those under construction and stripping them of appliances and cabinet work. Police arrested eight people.
