Luke Malek Selected For Honor Music Group

Luke Malek, a student at Gonzaga Preparatory School in Spokane and son of Steve and LeAnn Malek of Post Falls, was recently selected for the 1999 All-Northwest Honor Music Groups.

Malek, who will attend the Music Educators’ National Conference Northwest Division in Oregon in February, was one of eight Gonzaga students chosen after submitting a cassette tape of various audition materials to a selection committee.

The Northwest Region is comprised of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and Wyoming. John Wall directs the Gonzaga Prep choir program.

Robert C. Petersen, son of Robert and Patricia Petersen of Hayden, Idaho, and Jason D. Drost, son of Sandra Tesch of Hayden, have both enlisted in the Army Infantry’s Delayed Entry Program.

Petersen is a senior at Coeur d’Alene High School.

Peterson and Drost will depart for basic training at Fort Benning, Ga., in June.

Abraham D. Collett, son of Danette Vander Wall of Clark Fork, Idaho, and Douglas Collett of Florida, has enlisted in the Infantry through the Army’s Delayed Entry Program.

Collette, a senior at Clark Fork High School, will leave for basic training at Fort Benning, Ga., in June.
