Man Sentenced For Firearms, Counterfeit Bills

An Everett man was sentenced Friday to more than three years in prison for passing counterfeit bills and being a drug user in possession of firearms.

Jason E. Ritchie, 19, was also given three years’ supervised release in addition to the 41-month prison sentence, U.S. Attorney Kate Pflaumer said.

Ritchie was arrested in June for passing $50 counterfeit bills. According to federal authorities, Ritchie had received from $5,000 to $7,000 in counterfeit bills at about that time.

About two weeks later, authorities found several weapons in his apartment - a violation of federal law because of Ritchie’s status as a drug user.
